Empowering Gwinnett Village’s middle school aged youth (rising 6^th, 7^th and 8^th graders) to demonstrate leadership abilities and positively contribute to their community through civic service, the Summer Jump Start Youth Program offers education with a focus on math and science, self-evaluation and opportunities for character building. Developed to help maintain a student’s educational development over the summer, the hands-on four-week academic and enrichment program exposes students to businesses and cultural resources and enhances the awareness of higher educational opportunities in a fun and engaging atmosphere. Students are offered math, science, journalism and physical education instruction delivered by certified teachers, as well as enrichment opportunities that include field trips to colleges/universities and organizations.
