 | | In what was clearly one of the most challenging economic environments in a generation, the Gwinnett Village Community Improvement District moved forward with projects and programs in 2009 that continued the momentum of positive change. I'm pleased to present the Gwinnett Village CID,s annual report for 2009 which summarizes recent programs we've undertaken and provides updates on some long-term initiatives. | | Chuck Warbington Executive Director | | Vision to see beyond tomorrow: - Plan for light rail completed: A vision for regional transit through a light rail system connecting Gwinnett along the I-85 corridor to Metro Atlanta job centers was completed.
- Incentives authorized: The CID successfully advocated for Tax Allocation Districts and Opportunity Zones outlining incentives for new development and jobs.
Leadership to build a community: - Strategic office relocation: We relocated headquarters to the heart of the district to be more visible and accessible.
- Enhanced curb appeal: Landscaping of medians and maintenance of right-of-ways continued to be a priority in changing the perspective of the area.
Progress in challenging times: - Decrease in crime: Double-digit crime reduction for third consecutive year since CID formation.
- Funding Leverage: For every direct $1 of revenue, the CID returned and invested $1.40 back into the community.
We look forward to providing the Vision, Leadership, and Progress for the area in 2010. | | |
